There many other societies to get involved with in addition to our Engineering societies. Learn more on our Societies Page.
Engineering Societies
Aerospace Engineering Society
Consider getting involved in the Aerospace Engineering Society this year. It is a fantastic way to enhance your degree by meeting peers with the same interests, developing new friends and just having a wonderful time at our events and socials! Events include Socials, Flight Simulation Sessions (for fun or practice) and a wide range of events such as our end of year conference and Alumni talks!
To join, log in to the website with your new student number, then select purchase membership on the lower left side of the screen.
The £3 membership gives you access to our events, discounts, and better information on all our activities over the year!
Chemical and Environmental
The CEES offers you the opportunity to make friends on your course, get advice from students in higher years, and we also help you network with Swansea University graduates and returning Year-In-Industry students.
We host trips to Limitless Trampoline Park, pub quizzes, bowling nights and things like sports sessions throughout the year. We also host nights out in Swansea. Lastly, we help coordinate the trip for the IChemE Frank Morton event each year (https://ichemeblog.org/tag/frank-morton-sports-day-2019/)
Email if you have questions or would like to become a member: chemicalengineering@swansea-societies.co.uk

Our CIVSocialites enjoy a variety of networking opportunities such as talks and site visits held in partnership with ICE and SEA as well as awesome social gatherings. Socials range from themed nights around the town to dry socials at venues such as Limitless Trampoline Park, TenPin Bowling and much more. Foundation
You may already have a course in mind for after your Foundation year, and if so, it is not too early (or too late) to join the Society for the subject in which you plan to specialise. All of our Engineering societies are open to Foundation Year students.
Materials Society
The Materials Engineering Society is about bringing together education and industry. Throughout each term we host industry visits, South Wales Materials Association lectures, and of course socials to give people a chance to get to know students from all year groups.
We also help provide opportunities outside of university by helping run trips such as trips to the Physics Nuclear Laboratory in Geneva and also summer placements and STEM activities.

Swansea Women in Engineering
The Swansea Women in Engineering Society is a student-led society that is part of both the Students' Union and the international Women in Engineering Society. We have lots of socials and events with one of our main aims of networking and connecting engineers while socialising and enjoying being a student at Swansea. All Engineering students are welcome to join, both male and female. We work closely with the College Peer Mentor scheme to support females engineers. So make the most of your time at Swansea and join us!
Swansea University Race Engineering
Being a part of the Swansea University Race Engineering team provides a unique opportunity for students of all courses to participate in the entire lifecycle of an engineering project: from the initial design concepts, building and testing, to the penultimate moment- racing the car. Join us to make lifelong friendships and gain invaluable hands-on experience and connections for a bright future after university.
