Welcome from the Biomedical Engineering Year 1 Co-ordinator:
"My name is Dr Claire Barnes, I am the Year 1 Coordinator for Biomedical Engineering. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your recent results and securing a place to study Biomedical Engineering at Swansea University. We are looking forward to meeting you and welcoming you into our Biomedical Engineering community.
We encourage you to make the most of the Welcome Week and use this as a time to familiarise yourself with Bay Campus and meet fellow students and staff. There are many points of contact and lots of people on hand to help you settle into university life in the coming weeks so please don’t be afraid to ask for help if you have any concerns at all.
As your year coordinator, I will be a point of contact for you during the course of your first year studies. We will have regular meetings throughout the year and I will ask for your feedback and help deal with any issues that may arise. If you have any queries, please contact me at C.M.Barnes@swansea.ac.uk. In the meantime, you will find the Student Handbooks extremely helpful, answering many of your questions and providing useful information, so please do take time to review these: Biomedical Engineering Year 1 Handbook.
We hope you are looking forward to starting your course and embarking on a new chapter of your life. We hope that this is the start of a great learning experience with us at Swansea."
- Dr. Claire Barnes, Year 1 Head, Biomedical Engineering
