Please see below the process and requirements for MSc September start students who have been awarded supplementary assessments in the August Supplementary Period, but wish to cancel their automatic extension to submit their dissertation by 15th December 2024. Waiving the right to the automatic extension would allow submission by the original dissertation submission deadline of 30th September 2024.
To request this please complete the PGT Waiver Form in full and submit to studentsupport-scienceengineering@swansea.ac.uk, ensuring that all signatures have been provided.
This waiver is not applicable to students on MSc Advanced Sport Performance Science, MSc Engineering Leadership & Management and MSc Actuarial Science as these students are on flexible regulations.
Before completing and submitting your form, please adhere to the following rules to gain approval:
- You are required to seek approval if you have failed ONE or TWO modules.
- If you have failed ONE module you must gain approval and a signature from your Dissertation Supervisor.
- In exceptional circumstances if you have failed TWO modules the waiver must be considered and signed by the MSc Co-ordinator and the Dissertation Supervisor.
- The decision of the Dissertation Supervisor and/or MSc Co-ordinator is final.
- You will only be able to submit your dissertation if you receive a decision of ‘Pass Proceed’ after the supplementary board in September. If any other decision is awarded you will not be permitted to submit the dissertation and will not receive any marks, feedback or credit for the dissertation module.
- You must return the completed and signed form to studentsupport-scienceengineering@swansea.ac.uk by Thursday 18th July at the latest. However, we strongly advise you to complete the form as early as possible.
- If you experience extenuating circumstances after the waiver has been confirmed you will be required to apply for Extenuating Circumstances (ECs).
