A Year in Industry is an opportunity to spend a year in employment during your studies, and is available to all undergraduate students studying within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
It will provide you with invaluable experience in the real working world and will help you develop a range of skills which will make you an attractive candidate for jobs after graduating.
Our Year in Industry degrees are four-year degree programmes, where your third year is spent working in industry.
The 12 month placement is a credit-bearing (worth 120 credits), assessed part of a 4-year degree programme. This means that your performance on the assessment and completion of the placement will have an impact on your final degree classification, just as a year of taught modules would. If you are interested in getting work experience but don't want to do a year long industry placement, .
NOTE: If you wish to go undertake a Year in Industry in your third year of studies, you must complete and pass the Employability Skills Module as well as pass your overall studies.
