Provisional marks are marks which have not yet been presented to the University Progression and Awards Board and therefore may be subject to modification. Provisional marks will be available to undergraduate and postgraduate students via the Student Intranet account. Component marks will appear on a student’s intranet account as soon as they are entered by the Faculty/School. The overall module mark will appear once all component marks for the module have been entered.
Marks awarded during main examination periods, will not appear on a student’s intranet account immediately but will appear either at the end of the examination period or once they have been confirmed by the University Progression and Awards Board (exceptions apply). Any provisional marks already entered will be‘frozen’ during this period. Where marks are published after the University Progression and Awards Board students will be notified of the date of publication.
There will be no provisional marks shown for taught master’s dissertations; such marks shall be available only once confirmed by the University Progression and Awards Board.
Confirmed marks are marks which have been confirmed by the University Progression and Award Boards and the External Examiner.
Academic Services is responsible for the formal notification of confirmed marks and results to undergraduate and taught postgraduate students following the University Progression and Awards Board. Confirmed marks and results will be available for undergraduate and postgraduate students via their student intranet account. This function may be delegated to Faculties/Schools in exceptional circumstances. This function will be undertaken by The College, Swansea University in respect of students of The College. Every effort shall be made to notify candidates of their results within a week of the University Progression and Awards Board being held.
Any marks/decisions released by Faculties/Schools must be confidential and disclosed to only those who need access and have a right to see it.
