Swansea University is a leading, sustainable university with ambitions to help drive forward sustainable development both in the UK and further afield.

Currently ranked 9th in the Guardian University Green League, at Swansea University we are proud of our many achievements in embedding sustainability into University life.

We have a dedicated and committed team of sustainability professionals working at the University. Our team brings expertise from industry and academia and is committed to working together with staff, students and the community to ensure that the University operates on a resilient, compliant and sustainable basis as laid out in the new Strategic Plan, which is pending publication. The team manages an annual budget which increases each year to support our work in areas such as sustainable transport and travel, management of Crymlyn Burrows Site of Special Scientific Interest, waste and recycling and the development of sustainability projects and initiatives.

We offer University students, staff and the local community many opportunities to get involved in our efforts to continuously improve sustainable practices at the University and to continue to lead the way in developing a more sustainable future for all.

Our Sustainability Policy and comprehensive Sustainability Strategy guide our work and support our robust Environmental Management System which is accredited to ISO14001:2015 and has Platinum EcoCampus rating.
