TRE makes use of Amazon Web Services Cloud storage, which is a pay-as-you-go solution. As a result, costs for use of TRE need to be borne by the research project. To work out costs you will need to consider:
- The duration of the project in weeks
- The amount of data to be stored in GB or TB
- The number of researchers involved in the project
- The number of hours spent accessing TRE and carrying out analysis/research, per researcher, per week
These metrics are put into a cost calculator, that will provide the cost of using TRE for the project.
Note: this does not include the cost of CE compliant end user devices, which should also be costed in the funding bid.
