"Hiya! My name is Abigail Egwuatu and I am the welfare officer of the student union. I am also really happy to be a member of RISAC for this academic year. I studied Law and Criminology and graduated in 2022. When I'm not working, you will probably catch me reading a book, dancing/ listening to music, watching a movie or putting outfits together.

I am excited to be a part of RISAC because I'm deeply passionate about promoting diversity and racial inclusion on campus. I believe that there is much more that can be done to ensure that students from minority ethnic groups feel welcomed in Swansea University, and RISAC presents the ideal platform to develop practical solutions to advance this goal"

I am Eno Usoroh, a medical Doctor from Nigeria and I am delighted to be selected as a RISAC member. I have a passion to represent my colleagues and peers in a bold and unbiased manner, hence offering myself as a representative for international students. Many international students are not bold, confident or courageous enough to make their voices heard, and on the flip side, if we all speak at the same time, it becomes a cacophony and no one gets heard.

In my undergraduate days, I was an elected Student Union member, and gave valuable representation to my peers. In 2011, I undertook a Masters degree in Public Health and in that year, was also an elected Student Representative. Both times, I carried out the tasks of these positions with a great deal of passion and excellent results. Presently, I am the Subject rep for my Masters of Health Informatics cohort (January 2023 intake).

I believe that as an international student who has spent some time now at Swansea University, and also as an active member of the Black, Asian and minor ethnicity (BAME) community, I have the relevant experience to represent my colleagues adequately as a RISAC member.

I'm Loraine Lindokuhle Ndlovu, proudly from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe's second-largest city, known as the City of Kings and Queens. My cultural diversity is a testament to my ability to communicate fluently in five languages, allowing me to connect deeply with people from various backgrounds. My true passion lies in exploring the diverse landscapes of Africa. Among them, Victoria Falls is my absolute favourite; its majestic beauty leaves me awestruck with every visit. Traveling has enriched my perspective, broadened my horizons, and fostered a profound appreciation for the world's natural wonders. However, my journey is not just about exploration; it's about making a difference. That's why being part of the Race Inclusion Student Advisory Committee (RISAC) means so much to me. It reflects my commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within our academic community. With my multicultural background and my innate curiosity about different worldviews, I'm eager to contribute to creating a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all.

I am  Foluso Bamidele Afelumo, a Nigerian and medical practitioner.  I finished my medical training at the prestigious University of Ilorin Medical School, Nigeria. I am a student of the Department of Public Health and Health Promotion.

I worked at various levels of healthcare in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia before coming to the UK for this program.

I am a polymathic writer, columnist, compelling essayist, and poet. I love singing, reading, traveling, and gardening.

I joined RISAC so as to add my voice to the clarion call for erasing all the vestiges of racism from our social fabrics and tapestries. Having been a victim of that repugnant act myself, I am happy to join forces with fertile and noble minds from all walks of life in consigning that ignoble act to the dustbin of history and ensuring we sing a dirge for the eventual burial of that blighted mutant ingrained in many humans of our beautiful planet.

Hello, I am Kai and I have been a member of RISAC for two years. I am a third year Sociology and Psychology student and am the Secretary and BAME rep of LGBT+ society. I have an interest in gender, queer, and race issues, as well as intersectionality. In my time at Swansea University, I was given the opportunity to work on the Race Action Plan in 2022, from which I became more involved in work on racial equality on campus. I look forward to working with everyone on RISAC to improve race equality in the university, and hope to be able to foster a more inclusive environment for more engagement of BAME and international students!

I am a current masters student, studying Communications , Media Practice and Public Relations, I also currently serve as the Womens Officer for Swansea University Students Union.

My hobbies are singing, creating content, and networking.

I joined RISAC because it is an amazing opportunity for me to represent people like me, from the same race and ethic group.

I would love to see more students from ethnic minority groups celebrated in their various fields

I would also love that there is proper representation of black minority ethnic groups of which I represent, and their needs are well communicated to the university as well as their voices heard.
