Celebrate Asian Heritage With Us!
On April 2nd 2025, we hosted an engaging panel discussion on reclaiming narratives, and lecture as we celebrated Asian Heritage!
With refreshments and an interactive quiz for the chance to win exciting prizes, this was also an opportunity to hear unique perspectives, network with inspiring individuals, and celebrate Asian heritage together.

Reclaiming the Narrative Exhibition
The 2024 Black History Exhibition was themed 'Reclaiming Narrative' and in the spirit of this, we invited students to submit their artwork, celebrating Black history, culture and identity.
The exhibition was an opportunity to explore how Black communities, past and present, have taken control of their stories, reshaped their identities, and resisted dominant narratives. Whether through education, history, art, activism, or everyday experiences, we encouraged students to creatively interpret this theme, highlighting personal, cultural, or global perspectives.

Equip Yourself to Facilitate Critical Conversations
As part of our commitment to the Race Equality Charter and the Welsh Government’s Anti-Racist Wales Action Plan, we offered a workshop for staff to gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence necessary to facilitate impactful conversations around culture, race, and anti-racism, both inside and outside the classroom.
This was a crucial step in building an inclusive, anti-racist, academic environment to support staff and students alike by facilitating critical conversations on culture, race and anti-racism.
Black in Business with Deb Omole
In collaboration with Swansea International Race Equality Network (SIREN), we were thrilled that we were able to host Deb Omole who spoke about “Black in Business: Starting and scaling up, challenges, growth and funding opportunities”.
This event was open to students and staff, in-person and online.

"Reclaiming Our Narrative" Panel Discussion, Exhibition Launch
The "Reclaiming Our Narrative" Panel Discussion, marked the launch of our Celebrating Black History Exhibition and our commitment to the Race Equality Charter.
Students and staff were encouraged to engage in meaningful conversations about reclaiming stories, challenging stereotypes, and creating inclusive communities.
