HSBC Event 2023
On the 29th of September 2023, a group of 27 students attended the HSBC Call Centre in Llansamlet, Swansea. The event was open to 50 students from across the faculty and students across the four schools attended.
The event was extremely successful with fully engaged students asking a wide range of questions. The feedback from students was highly positive as they stated how beneficial it had been to attend as they gained a lot of informative information about placements, graduate jobs and the application process. They also received a talk from NHS Ambulance and they discussed their recruitment process and the jobs they offer. Similar events in the future will definitely be considered as over 90 students registered to attend.
Personal Finance Society Conference 2023
The Personal Finance Society Conference took place on 2nd November 2023 at ICC, Newport where 14 students across the faculty attended. There was a high demand for the event with 45 students signing up. Tickets were £200 each but were free for 20 students across the faculty to attend.
The conference was a resounding success with high student engagement and knowledge acquisition. A diverse range of presentations were given to gain valuable knowledge about diversity in companies, investments and how AI is used in finance and career opportunities. Students networked with professionals, gaining valuable insight into potential careers particularly finance and law. The high attendance of 70% demonstrates the positive impact of the event for students by expanding financial planning knowledge and exploring potential career paths.

Dezrez Legal Event 2024
Dezrez Legal Event 2024
On 14th February 2024, Dezrez Legal welcomed 14 enthusiastic students to their Swansea Marina office for an informative Law open day session. This was available to 20 students across the faculty and attracted a majority from the School of Law and School of Management, demonstrating keen interests in pursing a law career.
The open day provided valuable insights into the legal profession and Dezrez Legal operations. Students gained deeper understandings of different practice areas specifically conveyancing. The session offered a glimpse into the Dezrez Legal work environment as students toured the office. Students were given an insight into application processes by completing an assessment day task in groups. They received valuable feedback from the task which can be implemented on assessment days.
