From 1st June 2024, there will be a change to the Assessment Regulations for all taught programmes.
The change relates to the current ‘toleration’ system. Toleration is the process of allowing a marginal failure, of one or more modules (restrictions apply), on the basis of an overall acceptable level of academic performance. Under the current toleration system, credits are not awarded for these modules.
The University will move to a new ‘compensation’ system. This means that any modules that would normally be subject to toleration will now be compensated and awarded credits.
Please consult our frequently asked questions for how this change will affect you. If you have any questions or queries, please contact your Faculty Student Information Team.
