‘Putting students at the centre of everything we do’
During your time at University you may feel under pressure or in need of support in managing your studies or with personal issues.
The Student Experience Team can help you resolve these issues or signpost you to specific resources within or outside the University. Some of the issues you may face could relate to: money, relationships, mental health and wellbeing, study related matters, academic performance or misconduct. If you are experiencing difficulty with any other aspect of your studies please contact your relevant Student Experience Officer (SEO) for one-to-one or group workshops on study skills.
Administrative Disability Link Tutor: For students who have a disability, medical condition or specific learning difficulty we would advise that you contact the Disability Office as early in your studies as possible to find out about the support that is available to ensure you have the same opportunities as everyone else. For further information and support, please contact your subject Student Experience Officer, who acts as your Disability Link tutor.
Student Experience and Social Activities: Students also have the opportunity to engage with the team as part of the social calendar of activities. The team focuses on the experience students have during their time at University and hosts numerous activities to encourage a full and varied University experience. These include events such as Welcome Week, Graduation, Staff-Student Sports Tournaments, Equality and Diversity Campaigns. The team also act as a link for our School Societies.
As a team we welcome student-led ideas and activities. Any students with suggestions that they feel would make a great addition to student life at SoM, please get in touch with your SEO and we would be happy to explore this further with you.
