Graduate Career Development Course

Do you want free training to become more employable and build workplace confidence?

The Graduate Career Development Course is an online course committed to helping Swansea university graduates into fulfilling jobs that fit around their career aspirations, skills and attributes.

We designed the curriculum of this course with employers and recent graduates so you understand and build the skills most in-demand today. In each of the units you will focus on building a different skill, for example, developing your self awareness, choosing a career and applying to relevant jobs, networking with employers, writing your CV and cover letter, writing successful application forms and performing well at interviews, developing your resilience and growth mindset.

Our Graduate Career Development Course is delivered 100% online and can be done in your own time for maximum flexibility with the addition of careers advice from our careers consultants to provide help and motivation.

How does it work?

No essays. No exams. All you need to do is complete the course and attempt the quizzes at the end of each unit. This is mainly for you to find out how well you have grasped the topic and if you need to revisit any of them.

Appointments and advice: We are supporting you as usual through online careers advice

We provide free Careers advice and guidance for graduates of Swansea University for up to two years after graduation.  We welcome enquires from our graduates and offer support via face to face appointments, telephone, skype or email.

If you need advice from a Careers Adviser, please book directly via this link.

The first time you access Employment Zone you will be prompted to set up your profile, once you have done this you can navigate to book an appointment from the tab on the right of the top green banner.

Lateness and non-attendance at appointments:

There is a high demand for our appointments with Careers Advisers.  When you book your appointment please ensure that you book at a time that is convenient for you and ensure that you attend on time.  If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment we reserve the right not to offer the appointment.  If you find that you cannot attend your appointment you must inform us and cancel the appointment as soon as you can as this would allow another student or graduate to book an appointment.

We operate a non-attendance policy for all students and graduates.  If you fail to attend 3 appointments over the term you could find that we refuse to offer further appointments to you.  This is in order to ensure that all students and graduates can access our appointments.
