I grew up in Derbyshire with my parents and sister. I've played cricket for years, having represented both Derbyshire and Leicestershire Counties. I now play for a local club team here in Swansea and the University. I aspire to continue within academia / research. The current aim is to get a post doc within my research area of thermal physiology after completing my PhD.
BEING A SUBJECT REPRESENTATIVE
I wanted to help represent our department and the other PGRs to help improve our experiences here.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
I liaise between staff and students, send information round to the other PGRs, ensure a positive research environment within the office, assist with onboarding of new research students and organise social events.
MY CURRENT STUDIES...
I am researching within the area of thermal physiology. This is a really interesting and dynamic field, which lots of scope for the future. I would like to continue with this research post PhD.
