In 2017, Professor Hilary Lappin-Scott, launched our first student office space on Singleton Campus in the Talbot Building. The Launch Pad is a space where you can come and get guidance & advice, meet fellow student entrepreneurs and help you develop your business ideas, experiment and start your own business. To find out more about the space, come and speak with our team. 

With our connections across the region and within the university, we are able to offer 70 hour entrepreneurial work placements for our students. If you're interested in getting involved with a start-up, adding some experience to your CV and expanding your network, this is the thing for you! 

The placements can come in all shapes and sizes, whether that is marketing for a start-up, digital creation for the enterprise team, working with teams in Research, Engagement and Innovation Services, there is something for you. 

These will be promoted through our social media, and through Employability Teams within your faculty, so make sure you're keeping up to date with us on socials and checking in with your Employability Teams!

• Swansea University's Wave Crowdfunding. Wave is Swansea University's exclusive crowdfunding platform. It enables current students and members of the University to crowdfund their imagination, develop their interests and pursue creative and innovative projects and ideas. www.wave.swansea.ac.uk
• Innovation Grant (AgorIP) - for technology start-ups looking to realise the potential of your idea, product or research. And take the IP to the market place and help make a commercial success. (Grants up to £5000)

• Santander Entrepreneurship Awards - for committed early stage start-ups looking to raise profile, scale and grow (win up to £25,000, promotional/web support and paid interns)

Higher Education Achievement Reports (HEAR): “Certificate in Enterprise” Award is given to undergraduate and postgraduate students who have explored and demonstrated their ability to think and behave in an enterprising way, whether in a business, social enterprise, technology innovation, or company context;  or within the university to benefit other students.

The Young Innovators Programme helps to support young people with diverse backgrounds to achieve their business potential. The programme can offer funding, business coaching and allowances to support the change in business in Britain, and inspire creativity.
