We will be flexible - please just submit your request as soon as you can (our usual 'within 5 days of deadline' guidelines does not currently apply).
The type of supporting evidence that you include will depend on your circumstance. Please read the guidance below, and email your completed supporting evidence to EngOffice@swansea.ac.uk. You can follow up with your supporting document at a later date, as these can be uploaded separately.
When accepted, you may be given an extended deadline or an exemption, as appropriate. The entire process takes place online and you would be notified by email of the outcome.
Travel: If emergency travel has affected your ability to complete a piece of work, please attach documentation confirming your travel details and any correspondence from your embassy (if applicable).
Remote Working: If working remotely from home has affected your ability to complete or submit a piece of work, please clearly explain the specific issues you’re having (i.e. what software you need, access issues etc.). The relevant academic/s will then be in touch to discuss your situation further.
Self-Isolation: If self-isolation is affecting your ability to complete or submit a piece of work, for your supporting evidence, you will need to complete a Self-Isolation Extenuating Circumstances Supplementary Form. The University will accept self-certification for up to 14 days for self-isolation.
Other illness or injury: If you have an illness or injury that is affecting your ability to complete or submit work which is not related to Coronavirus/COVID-19, then for your supporting evidence you will need to complete a Self-Certification-Illness-Injury Supplementary Form. During the period affected by COVID-19, the college will accept self-certification for up to 7 days for any illness or injury not related to CoronaVirus. If you have an illness or injury that requires a longer period of recovery, please seek medical advice and provide a note or evidence from your doctor, health centre or hospital.
If you have any questions about the above or anything else please do not hesitate to contact the Student Information Team.
