English Language Support

If you are a non-native English student on a degree course at Swansea University, one of your goals while studying here may be to improve your English. Our courses offer you the opportunity to build your English language and academic skills in order to make the most of your time at Swansea.

Good language and academic skills are required to ensure you understand your course materials, communicate clearly with your lecturers, and complete your degree successfully. Leaving Swansea University with both a degree and an advanced level of English is likely to put you in a good position to get the job you want or progress to further academic study.

What does the Centre for Academic Success offer?

We provide English language courses that cover speaking, writing, reading and listening, with a focus on using these skills in university. Our range of academic courses will also help improve your academic skills. In addition to our courses, our one-to-one appointments can help you identify frequent language errors in your writing and suggest exercises for improvement. We also offer social activities, such as local trips and our ‘Talk Club’, where you can meet other students and practice your English.
