SESSION 1:Creating a One Page Plan
This workshop takes the latest research around how we learn and introduces the theories to students in an accessible way, with the aim of encouraging to think about how these discoveries might impact their own study routines. Three main areas are covered: Memory and Routines; Environment and Problem Solving.
SESSION 2: The Literature Review
This workshop delves into the minds of some of the world’s leading business and personal organisation thinkers to draw out the key concepts behind successful time management. Once these have been established students are encouraged to use learning to reflect on their own routines and consider how they might develop successful time management strategies of their own.
SESSION 3: The 7 Roles of a Dissertation Writer
Your dissertation may well be the longest piece of work you write; certainly it will be one of the longest you have done to date. In this workshop we will consider the multiple roles you will need to play as a dissertation writer, and how to make sure that your writing style, as well as the content, is as effective as it can be.
SESSION 4: The Peripheries
Doing a dissertation is not just about the research and the writing; it takes up a significant amount of your life as well. This session is about recognising that and offers strategies to help make the process easier, from managing your relationship with your supervisor, to recognising your writing process, and effectively organising your time.
